From October 14-16, 2015, leaders from government, industry, business and First Nations will gathered at the Vancouver Convention Centre for the third annual International LNG in BC Conference: Clean Energy. Reliable Partner. The event showcased what British Columbia has to offer and helps move the Province forward in the international LNG marketplace. It provides the opportunity for businesses and LNG proponents to connect and network. A variety of keynote speakers and industry panels provided an opportunity for attendees to engage in discussions and share their knowledge.

This year’s Trade Show Exhibition featured businesses from the energy sector, including many organizations from British Columbia whose products and services are integral to the completion of the LNG industry.

As in previous years, a Youth Expo took place for the duration of the Conference. This year’s event – called the GameChanger Youth Expo – saw an expansion that included a Post-secondary Education Pavilion, a Career Centre, a student forum and a series of skills challenges focusing on trades, engineering and business. The GameChanger Youth Expo was designed to stimulate the next generation of talented energy professionals who will drive the LNG industry forward.

Why British Columbia?

Global demand for cleaner energy is growing, and British Columbia is in a prime position to meet that demand.

British Columbia has vast resources of natural gas and easy access to Asian markets. Factor in other significant advantages – a large skilled workforce, comprehensive transportation links and infrastructure, political stability, a competitive fiscal framework and resulting financial benefits, and transparent regulatory requirements – and it’s easy to see why British Columbia’s LNG industry is high on the international radar.

With an abundance of natural gas in British Columbia, there is huge potential for the province’s LNG industry. LNG could create over 100,000 jobs for British Columbians and more than $100 billion in revenue over 30 years. The 2015 International LNG in BC Conference is designed to help British Columbia seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
